Book Review by Soulla Christodoulou
Hello and welcome to this week’s My Book Love For… I have read Dee Taylor’s debut novel set on the banks of Loch Ness and really enjoyed it. The descriptions made me want to disappear to Scotland.
Dee Taylor graduated with a BA Hons from the University of Kent in 2009.
He spent his early creative career in advertising, working in London during the boom years. He then headed up his own group of creative/design companies in Soho and Covent Garden.
He has since founded a career in fine art, as a successful painter, and works from his studio in Folkestone’s vibrant Creative Quarter. His speciality is pop art and contemporary culture.
His inspiration for The Loch came from angling, and he has fished throughout my life.
He discovered Loch Ness many years ago, and has visited it many times, and of course fished there.
He says, “Once in the late 90’s while fishing I had a sighting of something unidentified, and although I can never be sure, I believe it may have been the fabled creature of the Loch. Since then I have researched the whole phenomenon, and read every scrap of information about The Loch Ness Monster. I am certainly convinced it exists, and felt compelled to create a fictional adventure surrounding Loch Ness.
Hence my novel The Loch.”

I hope you’ll give Dee’s book a read. It’s certainly a fast-paced adventurous story.
