I was taken ill in March with the awful Covid-19 virus and I was really scared of what I would leave behind if anything happened to me. I was bed-ridden for 18 days… that’s a long time for someone like me who is active, hands on and always rushing around doing a hundred things at once. Thankfully I pulled through and after another four weeks of slowly building my strength and finding a new norm within my household of five other adults, I found a new pace. A slower pace, a mindful place. Gratitude formed an increasingly important part of my daily life and filled me with a sense of having a second chance. 

I’m always grateful for new beginnings and the hope and quiet excitement which comes with them. It’s like feeling the sun against your bare skin for the first time after a winter. And where there’s hope there is celebration, right? There is always a right time to say goodbye to the past, close the door behind you and face the sunshine with an open heart and open mind. In fact Einstein said, “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.”
